Dream Con 2026

During the weekend of July 10th, 2026, the Blitz Team returned to Dream Con at the George R. Brown Convention Center. This was the second time the team attended Dream Con, and it was even better than last year! The team set up the game booth all three days of the convention, presented a Frieren car at the Itasha area, and hosted a panel for our Gym Leader Challenge on Sunday.

At the booth, we offered our classic games like break the box, spin the wheel, and dice tic-tac-toe. We also offered 2 new games. The first new game was Poke Fishing where you had to catch water type Pokemon inside of a fishing bowl using a rod. The second new game was Uma racing. For Uma racing, 4 Uma figures were placed on rolled out toilet paper on top of a table. Then, participants had to roll the toilet paper to have the figures race for the best time.

Of course, the team had a raffle at the end of each day. Every $5 spent gave participants one raffle ticket. The team raffled off signed Funko Pops, posters, and other great prizes. The team greatly appreciates everyone who stopped by the booth to play a game and enter the raffle!

The Blitz team also offered the Gym Leader Challenge next to the game booth before the official panel on Sunday. Several con attendees earned Gym Leader Badges by doing push ups, sit ups, squats, and planks. On the final day, attendees were able to do chin ups and pull ups too. Great job everyone who participated in the Gym Leader Challenge!

The Blitz team’s very own member, Gambler, rolled into the Dream Con Itasha car display with his Frieren themed Corvette. The Corvette also had the official Blitz team logo on it. Gambler and Chase helped hand out pamphlets and Blitz Team cards to help spread awareness about Lupus.

Dream Con has quickly grew into Houston's premier anime and gaming convention due to the fun events, outstanding guests, and coordination. The Blitz Team hopes to attend Dream Con again in the future. This convention was a great oppurtunity for the team to spread awareness about Lupus, raise funds, and honor Monica's memory.
